Pretty Rivers are Pretty
Today I dipped into the Skykomish river and it was so wonderful - not too cold, which was a lil weird because its snow run-off from the mountains but I guess most of that has melted now? and anyway the water is so clear and you can see lil fish and the river rocks and the Cascade mountains in the distance. again, Pacific NW in the summertime you are INCREDIBLE! Later i biked around and watched the clouds and more lil babbling brooks and i felt so lucky. now i'm all alone in the a-frame in sultan and it is, admittedly a bit lonely. but i am trying to radically accept this loneliness and isolation: it is in fact temporary, perhaps just amplified by it being saturday night for the rest of the world and my having grown accustomed to the bustling city saturday nights of portland and seattle. so this is probably good for me. still, though, isolation has a way of cultivating nostalgia and nostalgia well, especially the romantic sort, is a long and very narrow cauldron of a rabbit hole. cauldron of a rabbit hole? that don't make no sense! oh well. at least i have my elliot lipp pandora station to keep things topical and jumpy.
